Understanding click intervals

An interval is the time between two primary-button press events received by this page.

An interval is the time between two primary-button press events received by this page. It is not the time between electrical contacts inside a switch. The user threshold only highlights pairs to inspect. Start with deliberate isolated clicks, repeat under the same conditions and note whether the symptom can be reproduced. Intentional fast clicking, software macros, remapping, connection changes and event scheduling can affect the sequence. Compare the event log and interval distribution rather than treating one short interval as a diagnosis. For a drag problem, use the hold test instead of a double-click threshold.

Measurement limits

A browser observes events exposed by your operating system. One test cannot establish whether a device is faulty. Connection, settings, focus and browser behavior can change the results.
